"We spent the day at Paignton Beach and decided to try the fish and chips at the pier. While the location and views were great, the overall experience was a bit disappointing. Service was quite slow, and the prices were surprisingly high, we spent over £100 just on fish and chips and burger meal. The food itself was average; I've definitely had better during our time in Torquay. We ordered chips with cheese, but unfortunately, it was just cold, processed cheese dumped on top, which didn’t even melt. I also found the kids' meals to be overpriced. In the end, it felt like we were paying more for the setting and views than for the quality of the food."

"Whilst quite expensive as you would expect in a tourist spot, the food was good quality and an ok portion size. Service was friendly and quick- we had Battered Sausage, small and large cod, and a chicken burger, each with chips and quality was consistent. Loses a star - if you are going to charge £20 for cod and chips, including Tartare Sauce, you shouldn't provide a cheap mass produced, long life, foul tasting sachet - you should give fresh. It's a false economy to have a nice meal, with a foul accompanying sauce."
